Behind the word, below the word, around always is an elsewhere, or more than one for word is never sufficient itself never can word suffice unto itself I adore the word, not idolatry I’m apprehensive of apprehension Prehensile claw can lift, murder, let slip, Words do hold me rapt and yet I escape I expect that there was no beginning No "anfang" at all, no fanged word to seize A nugget of nothing, strike as lightning To create any sky of cold innocence May be no before be-fore was before Words cannot write betoken wordlessness
