Light wings of butterflies and of the birds
press invisibly the yielding of air
and yet they ruffle and they agitate,
leave behind signatures of turbulence

that could be read, had we but eyes to see,
this was monarch, here was fritillary,
here was a lark, here a golden weaver,
I speak my own turbulence, hard to read
