Two Does, Two Bucks
Two does, two bucks, couples grazing in snow as the sun flashes orange robin breasts up in green crown of ivy on oak snag, luxury of light amid winter's cold not exactly domesticity, but close, creatures in accord with their own natures doing what they do with nature's accord, as my eye is itself part of the scene the deer tarry, always in part alert, the bucks come closer each one to its doe, then they stoop to eat, restore energy, as the robins flurry above on blue the creatures move on, leave themselves behind, does, buck, robins, snow, sunlit my delight
