Revelation

Has the poetry monster mutated
to be a lamb of song, a ram of song,
occasionally a plump fecund "you"
of melody and lyric streaming new?

never fully manifest, the monster 
lives in the wind as wind, goes where it blows,
shows as it will when it will, never done,
shifts into shapes from which it then escapes

monster bleats eloquently of defeat
as it performs most remarkable feats,
inner presence surpassing subtlety,
monster can be at once both lamb and scam

I am pleased to admit revelation 
of the monster insists that I fall short
