By disobeying it, so holding it In abeyance, the care of description Can calm and educate rash judgement So pulling the teeth of premature closure With its damaging and limiting bite That won’t allow transformational shades Of doubt and difficulty to rise like mist From the barrens of what we thought we knew Description imitates as means to start To form the lines of questioning that slow The rush of thought, let it deliberate To free itself from accustomed shackles Guards freedom, a single detail can jar An entire empire that seemed eternal
